Which Service Is Your Car Due For?
Your service book decides the interval. Here is what each one means in practice.
Minor Service
The routine one, due at every interval. Engine oil and oil filter to the manufacturer's spec, air filter and pollen filter checks, fluid top-ups, a brake inspection and a short road test. Service book stamped.
Major Service
Everything in a minor service plus the longer-interval items: spark plugs or glow plugs, fuel filter, pollen filter, brake fluid and whatever else your manufacturer lists for that mileage.

Many motor plans and manufacturer cover terms expect the schedule to be followed, with quality parts and a stamped service book. We work to your car's schedule and record every service. We are an independent workshop, not a dealership.
What a Service Includes
- Engine oil and filter change with the grade your manufacturer calls for.
- Air filter and pollen filter checked, and replaced when due.
- Brake pads, discs and brake fluid level inspected.
- Coolant, power steering and clutch fluid checked and topped up.
- Belts, hoses, lights and wipers looked over.

- We tell you whether a minor or major service is due and agree a day that suits you.
- Bring the car and the service book to 110 Susman Avenue between 07:30 and 16:30, Monday to Friday. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.
- We inspect, service and road test it. If we find more work, you get a quote on WhatsApp before we touch it.

Ferndale is Randburg's commercial centre, the belt of offices and shops along Republic Road and Oak Avenue to our north-west. It is a short run down Republic Road to the workshop, and plenty of Ferndale cars come in for a service on a weekday morning.

Bordeaux is a quiet residential suburb on the northern side of Randburg. Drivers from there come south through the town centre to reach Blairgowrie.
Linden

How often should I service my car?
Your service book sets the interval, usually by time or by mileage, whichever comes first. As a rough guide, many petrol cars are due every 15 000 km or once a year. City driving, with short trips and stop-start traffic, is harder on the oil than a long open road, so an older car driven that way is better off with a shorter gap.
Do I need a minor or a major service?

Fangio Auto Randburg is not a dealership, so check your own plan's terms and ask us if you want to see what the maker lists for your mileage.
Do you service all makes and models?
Yes, petrol and diesel, from small hatchbacks to bakkies and SUVs. If it is something unusual, tell us the make and model when you book and we will say whether we can take it on.
What happens if you find something else wrong?
We stop, explain what we found in plain language and send you a quote on WhatsApp. Nothing extra is done until you say yes.
